If only you can believe

Mark 9:23 “if you can believe all things are possible for him that believe.”

When we talk about “Faith” we find so many definitions to express what the word “faith” means. Sometimes these definitions finally complicates it. Today I want us to see faith as having complete trust. Let me share a little story of Zara. Zara is a  4 year old girl. She has this close bond with her father but he is a very busy man. Always in one business meeting or the other. This morning as Zara was dressing up for school, her father picked her up and said, “baby, I will be coming to pick you up from school today” so excited she couldn’t wait for the school day to be over. Finally the school day was over but her father didn’t show up. With the disappointment in her face as other kids were running up and down to enter their parents car ,Zara sat down on the play ground swing waiting patiently. After hours of waiting Mrs Dora, Zara’s neighbor came to pick Nick and saw Zara sitting quietly , so beckoned her to join them home. Zara politely answered, “thank you madam, daddy is coming to pick me”. Zara had complete trust in her fathers words to come and pick her from school. Finally after another hour of waiting, she saw the red SUV drive into the school gate and she ran into her fathers warm embrace.

Trust in the integrity of God’s word concerning your life is faith. If we know who God is and love Him then trust must be a key ingredient in our relationship with Him. Every relationship without trust is faulty and weak. Such will soon break down.

Hebrew 11:6; And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

What are you going through today? is it a health challenge or what ever it may be? find the word of God concerning such issue and hold on to it. He is a good father and he will never disappoint you. Jesus speaking to the people in Mathew 7:9 said…

what man is there of you, who if his son ask bread will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish will he give him a serpent. If you then being evil know how to give good gift unto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him’

Let these words encourage you to have faith in God today. God bless you.
